Hopefully, many of you have noticed that when you sign up for games on MatchTrak, there is box to check if you would like to request a mentor for your match.  This is an excellent way to get some tips for improving your refereeing.  An experienced referee will come and observe you in your role as referee or assistant referee. If you may have seen an experienced referee a the field wearing a bright orange polo shirt, then you might have seen a mentor at work. They will meet briefly with you after the match.  They will confirm what you are doing well and give you suggestions on how to improve. The sooner that you make the request, the better chance that a mentor will be able to make it to your match.

If you have been refereeing for a while, have a firm grasp of the LOTG and the mechanics of refereeing, and would be interested in becoming a mentor, then please contact me at
