Team Coach / Assistant Coach Time: 2 hours of practice and 1 to 1.5 hours for
games each week. Also requires certification training for certain divisions and
based on previous activity and certifications. Can be 2 hours to 6 hours.
Additional 30 minutes suggested before each game or practice to prepare a
lesson plan or game required elements.
Scope: School or park field for practice and games assigned on the schedule and /or
by your division commissioner.
Task: lead a group of players in learning the game of soccer as well as
developing leadership skills, teamwork, satisfaction in reaching goals, and
understanding concepts of responsibility, action, and skills development. Elements of PIE (positive, instructional,
encouraging) to be used at all times. Knowledge of the game is not required but
is helpful. Training and certification is provided and required for some
divisions. Older divisions provide competitive play, playoffs, and chances to
advance to Area playoffs and possibly All Stars.
